About Obsessionism
Obsessionism is an independent guide to multitools. We help you pick a tool that fits the jobs you really do, then keep it working for years.
Our guides cover full-size pliers tools, compact and keychain tools and Swiss Army knives. We add new guides over time.
You don't need to know tool jargon to use them. We explain terms like needle-nose pliers, outside-accessible blades, bit drivers and replaceable wire cutters in plain words.
What we cover
We look at multitools from Leatherman, Gerber, Victorinox, SOG, NexTool and other known makers. We compare models by size, weight, the tools they carry and how they open and lock.
We also write care guides, like how to clean a Swiss Army knife or loosen a stiff Leatherman, because a good tool should last a long time.
How we work
We read the product details, specs and maker information for every tool we cover. We also look at what owners often say after carrying one for a while.
Then we turn that research into plain guides, side-by-side comparisons and clear picks. Our How we research page explains each step.
What we are not
We don't make or sell multitools, and no brand pays us to rank its products.
Obsessionism isn't affiliated with Leatherman, Gerber, Victorinox or any other maker. Brand and model names on this site belong to their owners.
We don't claim to have tested every tool ourselves. When we pick one, we tell you why, based on its specs, its features and owner feedback.
How the site earns money
Some links on this site go to stores like Amazon. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
That never changes which tools we pick. Our affiliate disclosure has the details.
